Noodle

"Noodle" oil on paper-mounted panel, 6.25" x 4" 2011

A study in geometry and pure color. Kind of a quick one liner that surprised me, it happened so fast. It also reminds me of my friend Osamu Kobayashi's work. It's funny that no matter how flat and removed an abstraction can be, it always yields to the power of suggestion (hence the title). In some ways, the simplified form is the most powerful mode of representation. Use what is given and fill in the blanks. Anyway, I'm calling it noodle.
